Boyd Gaming Corporation has announced extensive renovation plans for the Suncoast Hotel and Casino located in northwest Las Vegas. The comprehensive redesign aims to modernize and revitalize the 23-year-old property, promising a fresh look and enhanced guest experience.

The renovation project, expected to span two years, will be executed in phases, with the entire casino undergoing a transformation. Notable changes include a revamped casino floor featuring stone pathways and cutways, providing a more inviting and dynamic atmosphere for patrons.

The renovation also encompasses the introduction of a state-of-the-art sportsbook, complete with a stadium-style setup and one of the largest high-resolution LED screens.

Among the notable additions is the incorporation of a 70-seat center bar. Additionally, plans include relocating and renovating the bingo room to the first floor, near the main parking garage entrance, to improve accessibility for guests.

Steve Schutte, Executive Vice President of Boyd Gaming, said the renovations signify a strategic effort to modernize the Suncoast, aligning with evolving consumer preferences and industry trends.

We want to make sure that our properties remain relevant and fresh, and there’s always something new in the market. Customer preferences and desires change over time, and we need to make sure that our properties adjust to that and change with the needs of our customers,” he was quoted as saying in a Las Vegas Review-Journal report.

Key highlights of the renovation project include:

  • Transformation of the sportsbook into a stadium-style venue, scheduled to open by the upcoming football season.
  • Relocation and expansion of the bingo room to the property’s first floor, anticipated to be completed by summer 2025.
  • Renovation of the hotel check-in area to reflect a modernized aesthetic.
  • The addition of a new food hall concept, whose timeline has not been set.
  • Expansion of the second-floor meeting space, doubling its capacity to accommodate larger events and gatherings.

Boyd Gaming executives emphasized that the redesign aims to optimize existing spaces, with strategic relocations and enhancements aimed at maximizing guest convenience and satisfaction. Notably, the renovation plans do not affect the Cinemark Century Suncoast 16 movie theater, which remains unchanged following its pre-pandemic upgrade to luxury seating.

Work in late 2023 also saw the property debut its all-new High Limit Room, providing a more intimate and upscale gaming experience. A few months later, the Suncoast welcomed William B’s Steakhouse, an elegant restaurant with a bustling bar scene.
