Flamingo Las Vegas has unveiled a brand-new $20 million GO Pool complex, marking the latest phase in the historic resort’s ongoing transformation. The debut comes just in time for the Strip’s peak pool season.
The current wave of improvements follows a $90 million room refresh completed in 2017 and includes a slate of new culinary hotspots that have recently opened on the casino floor, the Las Vegas Weekly reported.
Over the past few months, Flamingo has welcomed three high-profile restaurants, namely Gordon Ramsay Burger, Lisa Vanderpump’s Pinky’s, and Miami-based Havana 1957, into its portfolio, further elevating the resort’s profile under the Caesars Entertainment umbrella.
“It was kind of the last of the properties to get any capital in, and somewhat by design,” said Dan Walsh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Flamingo. “We’ve always been working on a master plan, trying to figure out how do you position this property? What does it need? Where do you start? Where do you end?”
A key insight, Walsh said, was recognizing the potential of the resort’s expansive Strip-facing frontage—an area long seen as “severely underutilized.”
The additions of celebrity-driven venues by Vanderpump and Ramsay were central to reinvigorating those spaces. Meanwhile, Havana 1957, a Cuban restaurant chain known for its vibrant design and heritage cuisine, connects directly with Flamingo’s storied tropical theme and classic Las Vegas roots.
“Opening three restaurants at the same time is kind of crazy, but once we started… we said let’s continue to look at the rest of the property,” Walsh noted. “Probably one of the most compelling assets that we had for the longest time was that pool.
The new GO Pool features a redesigned layout, including a wet deck, 33 private cabanas, new night lighting, and the relocation of approximately 90 palm and other trees to create a more intimate, jungle-like perimeter.
The reimagined space now includes five total pools, highlighted by a grotto and tropical landscaping. A swim-up bar with 30 seats and a DJ booth atop a 50-foot rain-curtain waterfall are also part of the new layout.
Locals will receive free admission when the pool opens later this spring. Adults-only night swims are also planned.
“We want to make it nice and new and modern and beautiful, but we also want to make sure we’re respecting the traditions of the property and providing something that carries that brand history with it,” Walsh said.
