The 2025 edition of SiGMA Asia brought more than 13,000 delegates to the SMX Convention Center in Manila from June 1 to 4, offering a wide-ranging agenda that addressed topics such as gaming regulation, technological shifts, startup development, and corporate social responsibility.

The summit began with a ribbon-cutting led by Malta’s Ambassador to the Philippines, John Busuttil, alongside SiGMA Group CEO Emily Micallef and SiGMA Asia Director Neil Shih. In his remarks, Busuttil referenced Malta’s evolving collaboration with Asian markets, positioning the summit as a venue for cross-border regulatory discussion and cooperation.

Panels focus on regulation, AI, and affiliate models

Programming across the two-day conference spanned two stages: SiGMA and AIBC. The SiGMA Stage featured discussions on compliance strategy, sustainable market growth, affiliate marketing tactics, and casino innovation. Day two included topics on gamification, player experience, and workforce development in the Asian iGaming sector.

The AIBC Stage focused on topics such as artificial intelligence, tokenization, crypto payments, and the monetization of key opinion leaders. Workshops and panels examined how blockchain infrastructure and automation are being applied in digital entertainment and betting operations.

Startup pitch competitions highlight emerging ventures

SiGMA Asia’s Startup Pitch contests provided exposure for early-stage ventures. SavageTech won on the SiGMA Stage for its infrastructure-based tech platform, while Analytiks Inc. was recognized on the AIBC Stage for its use of behavioral data in optimizing operational outcomes. A panel of investors and industry executives judged the contests.

Held at the Conrad Hotel in Manila, the SiGMA Asia Awards 2025 recognized sector contributors. PAGCOR received the Outstanding Contribution to Gaming award, while SPRIBE was cited for its role in iGaming leadership.

The ceremony included a charity auction raising €15,200 for projects in Peru and Brazil. Match Liquidity secured four of five auctioned items, including artwork and a signed boxing glove from Manny Pacquiao.

Community outreach and on-site initiatives

SiGMA Foundation led delegates on a guided visit to Smokey Mountain, one of Manila’s most impoverished areas, to engage with local residents and examine community challenges. Separately, the Foundation opened the Batiawan Community Centre in Bataan, developed with the local Aeta population. The center provides access to training in digital literacy and sustainable agriculture.

Following the main summit, select affiliate partners joined a retreat in Boracay from June 5 to 7 at the Crimson Resort and Spa. The gathering allowed informal strategy discussions, wellness sessions, and networking beyond the conference setting.

SiGMA Asia 2025 combined regulatory dialogue, startup engagement, technology showcases, and community outreach in one event. The convergence of business objectives and development programs reinforced the summit’s role in addressing both commercial and societal aspects of gaming in the region.
