An expected audience of 18,500 people, more than 400 exhibitors and sponsors, and 250 speakers across three simultaneous stages. These figures give a sense of the scale of BiS SiGMA South America, whose conference and exhibition program begins today, April 7, at the Transamerica Expocenter.

The event — previously known as BiS SiGMA Americas and now renamed BiS SiGMA South America after the SiGMA Group launched a new show in Mexico — takes place at a key moment for the Brazilian iGaming industry.

In addition to marking the second year of Brazil’s regulated online betting market, 2026 is also a presidential election year. The outcome of the vote could directly impact a sector operating under regulatory oversight and facing ongoing political pressure on issues such as taxation and advertising restrictions.

In this context, the event aims to foster connections between operators, providers, and regulators, while enabling discussions and strategies for companies to stand out in the market.

Completing one year of regulation represents a very important milestone for the Brazilian market. The existence of clear rules brings greater legal certainty, encourages investment, and contributes to a more responsible environment for all stakeholders,” said Alessandro Valente, chairman and co-founder of the event, in a statement.

BiS SiGMA South America was created precisely to promote this dialogue among key industry players and to show that, with regulation and transparency, it is possible to overcome the prejudice that still surrounds the betting sector.”

The official opening ceremony is scheduled for 11:20 a.m. In addition to Valente, the welcome speech will feature Eman Pulis (founder of the SiGMA Group), Carlos Cardama (co-founder of BiS SiGMA South America), and Rubens Barrichello (former Formula 1 driver and non-executive director at SOFTSWISS for Latin America).

Throughout the day, the conference agenda will cover topics such as betting regulation, combating the illegal market, sports integrity, compliance, market expectations for the World Cup, and responsible gambling.

Our conferences are designed to provide the best space for qualified debate, bringing together regulators, operators, experts, and industry representatives to discuss pathways, share experiences, and contribute to building an increasingly transparent, safe, and sustainable environment for the sector,” said Flávio Figueiredo, managing director of BiS SiGMA South America.

During the three days of conferences, regulators such as Giovanni Rocco Neto (secretary of Sports Betting and Economic Development of Sport), Fábio Macorin (subsecretary of Monitoring and Enforcement of the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting), Daniel Romanowski (CEO of Lottopar), Fabíola Esteves (president of Loterj) and Petrônio Rolim (superintendent of Lotep) will take the stage.

On the industry side, insights will be shared by Plínio Lemos Jorge (president of ANJL), Guilherme Figueiredo (director of regulatory affairs at Betano in Brazil), Darwin Filho (CEO of Esportes Gaming Brasil), Leonardo Martins (Head of media, martech & analytics at Flutter Brazil), Simon Westbury (strategic advisor at 1xBet), Fernando Justus Fischer (CEO of Todos Querem Jogar), among other names.

Among the notable figures confirmed at the event are six football idols: Diego Lugano (Club World Cup champion with São Paulo in 2005), Zinho (World Cup champion with the Brazilian national team in 1994), Aloísio Chulapa (Club World Cup champion with São Paulo in 2005), Luizão (World Cup champion with the Brazilian national team in 2002), Müller (World Cup champion with the Brazilian national team in 1994), and Vampeta (World Cup champion with the national team in 2002).

Lugano, Aloísio and Luizão will be present in a panel at 4:45 p.m. this Tuesday. Meanwhile, Luizão, Müller and Vampeta are expected in Wednesday’s program, April 8, at 5:05 p.m.

The exhibitions and conferences at the Transamerica Expocenter will end at 6 p.m., but the BiS SiGMA South America program extends into the evening.
