Latin America’s gaming markets are expanding, with regulation tightening across several countries while demand continues to grow. Operators and suppliers are having to go through different rules, player preferences, and operating environments across the region in order to establish their presence.

Amid this changing landscape, Skilrock Technologies is increasing its focus on the market. In this interview with Yogonet, Executive Director and CEO Sujit Lahiry discusses why this week’s BiS SiGMA South America is a key platform for the company, where he sees sustainable growth, and the practical challenges operators face in areas such as omni-channel operations and regulation.

What makes BiS SiGMA South America a priority event for Skilrock this year, and how does it fit into your broader regional strategy?

South America is at a high-growth, high-regulation inflection point, making it a strategic priority for us. BiS SiGMA gives us a focused platform to strengthen partnerships and showcase our proven, compliant solutions and services.

Skilrock has already made a meaningful impact in the region, supported by our regional presence, local representatives, and key client partnerships. This gives us both the insight and capability to deliver solutions tailored to market needs, with strong headroom to scale further.

Our strategy is simple: “For LatAm, From LatAm”: build strong local partnerships, stay closely aligned with regulation, and deploy flexible, omnichannel solutions that scale with the market. The event provides a high-impact medium to accelerate all three while reinforcing our long-term commitment to the region.

Across Latin America, where do you see the most sustainable long-term growth: regulated markets, lotteries, or hybrid models? What opportunities and challenges do you see for operators entering or expanding in the region?

Sustainable long-term growth in Latin America will come from regulated, hybrid models, with lotteries and scratch-off games continuing to play a central role.

Lottery remains deeply embedded in the region; players value its familiarity, trust, and community aspect. That’s why we see strong potential in localized lottery and scratch-off formats that resonate culturally and bring people together. At the same time, hybrid models allow operators to extend this foundation into digital, creating a broader and more engaging ecosystem.

The opportunity lies in combining tradition with innovation. The challenge is navigating regulation, localization, and seamless execution. Skilrock enables this by combining deep localization with flexible, compliant technology that scales across markets.

Many platforms claim to be omni-channel. What are the most common operational challenges you see when operators try to actually implement that in practice? Can you tell us more about how your INFINITI platform supports omni-channel operations?

Most operators underestimate the operational complexity of true omni-channel, integration of disparate systems, disconnected retail and digital experiences, regulatory and security constraints, realtime data syncing are some of the most common challenges.

Omni-channel isn’t about being present everywhere; it is about being connected everywhere, with a single view of the player and seamless transactions across channels.

INFINITI is built with that foundation, with a unified backend, full customization, and real-time data synchronization across retail and digital. It enables operators to deliver a consistent player experience while maintaining control, compliance, and scalability.

How are player expectations changing in emerging markets like LatAm, and what does that mean for platform design and game portfolios?

Player expectations in LatAm are evolving rapidly, driven by mobile-first behavior, demand for instant gratification, and seamless digital experiences. Players expect speed, personalization, and ease of use.

At the same time, the market is clearly segmented: traditional players continue to engage with lotteries, bingo, and scratch games, while younger audiences are mobile-first, gravitating toward sports, instant, and fast-paced formats with higher levels of interactivity.

For operators, this means platform design must be mobile-first, intuitive, and built for real-time engagement, with strong localization at its core.

On the portfolio side, it’s about balance, offering trusted localised formats while expanding into more interactive, digital-first games. Skilrock brings value, with a blended approach that caters to both segments while keeping the experience simple, fast, and relevant.

What are the main challenges regulators face today, and how does Skilrock’s Gaming Regulatory System (GRS) help address them? From your experience, where do most regulatory frameworks fall short today?

Regulators today don’t face a single challenge; it’s the combination of fragmented data visibility, tax inaccuracy, and lack of reports that creates gaps in effective oversight.

This is exactly what Skilrock’s Gaming Regulatory System (GRS) is designed to address. It’s a regulator-first platform, built specifically around their core challenges and notably, first developed and deployed in a LatAm market.

GRS enables regulators to manage multiple gaming operations across jurisdictions through a single system. It provides real-time visibility into transactions, ensures compliance monitoring, and embeds player protection within a responsible gaming framework. In essence, it gives regulators the control, transparency, and scalability they need to govern modern gaming ecosystems effectively.
