Three employees of Binion’s Gambling Hall & Hotel on Fremont Street have been arrested and accused of skimming nearly $300,000 from cash registers, according to police documents obtained by investigators.

Authorities identified the suspects as Christina Carbonell, Siraprapha Rattana, and Rommel Soriano, 8NewsNow reported. The alleged thefts occurred between 2022 and April of last year at the Binion’s Café.

The investigation began following an internal audit that uncovered discrepancies in the restaurant’s financial records. Last year, an employee reported a scheme involving cash being taken directly from registers.

When officers responded, hotel security had already detained Rattana. She allegedly told police that she and her co-workers stole an average of $200 per day.

Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators reportedly showed Rattana pocketing cash from the register. Detectives believe Carbonell and Rattana, both cashiers, manipulated transactions by applying unauthorized discounts or reducing totals while keeping the full cash payments.

Soriano, who worked as a waiter, allegedly admitted to receiving stolen money. Police said video evidence also showed him assisting in concealing the thefts from surveillance cameras.

Further investigation into the suspects’ financial records revealed significant cash flow through multiple accounts, along with large withdrawals at other casinos in the area.

Authorities estimate the total loss to the casino at approximately $298,000.

Carbonell and Rattana each face charges of theft exceeding $100,000. Both have pleaded not guilty. Carbonell was released without bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on April 20, while Rattana posted $20,000 bail and is set to appear in court on April 22.

Soriano faces a lesser charge of theft between $5,000 and $25,000. He has also pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on May 21.
