With mobile devices now accounting for most sportsbook wagers, sportsbook solutions supplier DATA.BET has introduced In-Stream Betting, a front-end feature that lets players place bets directly within a live broadcast.

Integrated into an existing streaming infrastructure, the new tool is built to align with how users place bets, particularly on mobile. Players can access markets, odds, and the bet slip inside the stream, allowing them to place wagers without leaving the broadcast. The overlay is on demand, giving users the option to turn it on or off at any point during the stream.

Designed to keep betting activity inside the stream

According to DATA.BET, the feature is intended to address a common issue in live betting: maintaining user attention during an event. By removing the need to switch screens, operators can keep users engaged while following the action.

This setup can contribute to longer betting sessions, increased retention, higher betting frequency, and higher customer lifetime value. The feature can thus support operator revenue while requiring limited technical resources.

Quick and easy deployment

In-Stream Betting connects through the front end and does not require backend implementation. This lowers the barrier to launch and allows operators to deploy the overlay more quickly.

The feature is now available to clients upon request.

In-Stream Betting is launching first with virtual sports, with plans to roll it out to other verticals in the near future. When used with DATA.BET’s virtual sports content, based on in-house algorithmic simulations, the feature can support a continuous betting flow due to near-zero latency in broadcasts.

“In-Stream Betting is designed to meet players where their attention already is — inside the broadcast,” said Rostyslav Likhtin, Head of Product at DATA.BET. “For our clients, this means an additional engagement layer that is easy to implement but delivers real results in terms of retention and player satisfaction.

Having everything on one screen cuts the time it takes to place a bet, and that kind of frictionless experience is exactly what builds long-term player loyalty toward the operator,” Likhtin added.
