Arizona’s Casino Del Sol has unveiled a first look inside its new Tucson location, Casino Del Sol, Vahi Taa’am, ahead of its scheduled grand opening on November 15.
The new property features a 24,000-square-foot mural by Tucson artist Joe Pagac that spans the interior dome ceiling. The artwork depicts an Arizona desert sky with programmable lighting that transitions from midday to sunset.
“Every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create an unforgettable experience, and this is just the beginning,” officials said.
The casino will also feature Aniam Yo’orine, an artwork by Yaqui painter Marcelino C. Flores III of the Old Pascua Community. The piece, which means “Respect the Worlds” in Yoeme, incorporates Pascua Yaqui oral tradition and the five worlds central to Yoeme spiritual life.
Vahi Taa’am, pronounced vah-hee tah-ahm, means “Three Suns” in Yoeme. Officials said the property’s name distinguishes it from the flagship Casino Del Sol on Valencia Road.
Located at 1055 W. Grant Road, the new casino is expected to create 500 jobs in the region.
