Puerto Rico will once again serve as a meeting point for the gaming and betting industry at GAT Expo Puerto Rico 2026, which will hold its second edition on September 9 at The Condado Plaza Hotel in San Juan, as confirmed by organizer GAT Events.

Following its successful debut in 2025, the commercial showcase will once again bring together authorities, operators, manufacturers, suppliers and national and international executives. The event will combine regulatory updates, product and solution demonstrations, and business networking.

The Puerto Rico Gaming Commission will participate and support the show, described by GAT Events as “a key factor” in an event that seeks to promote dialogue between regulators overseeing the gaming segments currently operating in the U.S. territory and suppliers and operators interested in investing in or strengthening their presence in the growing Puerto Rican market.

A full day of education, exhibition and networking

The commercial exhibition will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., allowing operators and industry professionals to explore technologies, products, services and solutions across different segments.

At 11:00 a.m., specialised conferences and panel discussions will begin, featuring representatives of Puerto Rico’s regulator and its senior staff, as well as industry representatives and experts addressing current issues affecting the Puerto Rican and regional markets.

At 7:00 p.m., the event will conclude with a closing cocktail and networking session at the same hotel venue.

José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of GAT Events, said: “We are returning to San Juan for our second edition because we believe in the regulator’s work and in the positive impact it has been generating across all gaming segments in Puerto Rico.

This year, we decided to concentrate the activities into a single day to offer a highly cohesive and productive experience, where conferences, the exhibition and networking complement each other and allow participants to make the most of every space and moment. We are very grateful to the companies, authorities and gaming leaders who have once again placed their trust in GAT and will join us on September 9.”

A growing and transforming market

According to information released by the regulator in July, 21 licensed casinos are currently operating on the island. Three new venues are projected to open in Ponce, Mayagüez and Carolina between 2028 and 2029, which would bring the market total to 24 casinos.

Growth is also reflected in new investment. In 2026, Gran Casino Viejo San Juan opened its doors as Puerto Rico’s 21st licensed casino following an investment of approximately $11 million.

According to the authority, the industry continues to contribute around $200 million to Puerto Rico’s economy.

Sports betting is also evolving, with nine licensed operators currently active, four of which are also casino operators. During the latest consolidated fiscal year, 2024-2025, the sector reported $313.16 million in gaming volume, almost double the previous period.

Meanwhile, the regulation of route gaming machines has generated close to $30 million in revenue, allocated, among other destinations, to the General Fund, municipalities and the Police Retirement Trust.

Leading brands support GAT Expo Puerto Rico

The second edition of GAT Expo in San Juan has received support from major companies in the international gaming industry. Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) and Gamanza will participate as conference sponsors, supporting the educational programme and the exchange of specialised knowledge throughout the event.

The Puerto Rico Gaming Commission and Hipódromo Camarero, a leading reference for horse racing and entertainment in Puerto Rico, are Gold Sponsors of GAT Expo Puerto Rico 2026.

Aristocrat will join as a Bronze Sponsor, further strengthening the presence of major international companies at the second edition.

Mobadoo and Royal Gaming Logistics are also among the event’s sponsors.

The commercial exhibition will bring together companies representing different industry verticals and solutions. Confirmed exhibitors and organisations include Novomatic, Puerto Rico Gaming Commission, Royal Gaming Logistics, Fortune Group Games, Caribbean Gaming, EAS Systems, EEZE, Bloomcrest, TVC Gaming, Amusnet, Hipódromo Camarero, Prometeo, Oklahoma and Gem Solutions.

“This environment of market expansion, regulation and diversification reinforces the importance of bringing authorities, operators, manufacturers, suppliers and experts together in San Juan to examine the challenges and opportunities accompanying the industry’s evolution,” GAT Events said.

The upcoming edition of the show aims to connect the local market with leaders from Latin America, the Caribbean, North America and Europe, facilitating commercial exchange, new business relationships and opportunities for industry growth, the organizer added.
