n the face of COVID-19 and the Delta variant, Oregon’s Chinook Winds Casino Resort announced Friday that it will extend its temporary closure another week, making it the alleged activity return date on September 2

This decision was notified in a statement released by the company. The Lincoln City casino originally hoped to reopen Thursday August 26 when they first closed for two weeks on August 12.

According to the company’s statement, all hotel reservations prior to September 2nd will be automatically cancelled, as the closure includes the casino, hotel and golf course operations.

In their original statement released on August 12, Chinook Winds Casino Resort wrote: “Despite the progress we have made to vaccinate our team, their families, and the community, increases in cases in the county and state have led us to make the difficult decision to close our operations until August 26, 2021”.

“We will pay our team members through this two-week closure. We look forward to welcoming our guests and team members back as soon as it’s safe to do so”, signed General Manager Michael S. Fisher.
