rover Gaming has acquired the assets of Illinois-based gaming software company Digital Dynamics Software, Inc, the company announced on Thursday.

Digital Dynamics Software has developed products including SAS Engine, SAS Gateway, Backdrop casino management software, and the GAP gaming protocol. By having secured this acquisition, Grover Gaming expects to enhance its player experience and easily connect SAS-based electronic gaming systems and casino communications to its proprietary software.

Moreover, the deal also marks an expansion for Grover Gaming into Illinois. The software, game content and gaming systems developer now counts with a new Chicago office resulting from the acquisition.

“This investment will play a crucial role in our company’s future growth,” said Garrett Blackwelder, President of Grover Gaming. “Tony Antonucci and his team have an incredible reputation in this industry.”

Both Antonucci and the Digital Dynamics Software team are set to continue operations under Grover Gaming. The company was founded in 1994 by Antonucci and specializes in SAS Engine software, backdrop host systems, and SAS gateways. “Their GLI-certified system easily connects any SAS-based gaming devices and is designed to interoperate with system vendors worldwide,” a press release announces.

“We are very excited to join the Grover team and take our combined products to a new level and into new markets,” said Antonucci.

The new SAS engine will support Grover Gaming’s accounting and metering, multi-game/multi-denominations, real-time events, progressives, and bonus features.

Once integrated, the Backdrop host system will enable Grover Gaming to offer customers floor-wide accounting and ticketing, real-time floor display, enhanced reporting, and player tracking and rewards, announced Grover Gaming.

“With their proven casino products and our games, we are excited about the new opportunities this will open for Grover Gaming,” further added Blackwelder.

In June, Grover Gaming also expanded into North Carolina by opening a new game development studio in Wilmington, consisting of six different game development teams, each one including 3D Artists, Game Developers/Programmers, Quality Assurance Professionals, and Quality Testers. Additionally. The Studio Leadership consists of a Studio General Manager, Art Director, Director of Game Design, and Director of Game Development.

“Even though we have added over 100 new employees in the past eighteen months, we are still making every effort to hire quality people every day,” said Blackwelder in June. “Fortunately, the pandemic did not slow down our hiring last year, and we firmly believe that having a game studio in Wilmington will enable us to expand our development team at a faster pace.”
