Penn National Gaming, which had previously said that Hollywood Casino Morgantown would open by the end of the year, has confirmed the property’s opening date. Located in Caernarvon Township, Berks County, the $111 million casino will open at noon, December 22, pending final regulatory approvals.
Prior to the grand opening, Penn National will host two invitation-only test days, with gaming proceeds donated to United Way of Berks County, Honey Brook Food Pantry and the Jarett Yoder Foundation.
The 80,000 square-foot facility in Berks County will feature 750 slot machines and 30 table games, a climate-controlled outdoor gaming terrace, a Barstool Sportsbook with a jumbotron, and dining options.

The property’s Barstool Sportsbook will include a 150-seat full-service restaurant, which will offer a wide selection of food and beverage options, more than a dozen craft and domestic beers, hand-crafted cocktails and more. Betting windows and kiosks for sports and racing are located throughout the sportsbook, along with interactive games, an outdoor firepit and a Barstool Sportsbook merchandise station.

The casino will also have Tony Luke’s and Bar 76 on the gaming floor, as well as the Red Lotus Asian Kitchen.
This will be Penn National’s fourth casino in Pennsylvania, which will be at the intersections of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-176) and the Morgantown Expressway (Rt. 10): its closest property to its headquarters in Wyomissing. The company also operates Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, Hollywood Casino at the Meadows and Hollywood Casino York, which opened in August.
The casino will employ 375 people at the facility. Interested applicants can visit the Hollywood Casino Morgantown Career center, located at the Holiday Inn Morgantown at 6170 Morgantown Road. Various positions are available.
