Station Casinos and FINE Entertainment Management have provided a first look at their new collaborative dining and entertainment lounge concept “George Sportsmen’s Lounge”, which will be a feature at the new Durango Casino located in the southwest valley of Las Vegas.

The lounge, referred to as “The George”, is named after the casino slang term for generous tippers who passed along $1 bills featuring the face of President George Washington and will offer a range of entertainment options to patrons.

The facility will feature live entertainment, bartop gaming, sports viewing, patio parties, and full-service dining. “The George” will be positioned adjacent to the STN Sportsbook, aiming to complement the atmosphere of the race and sports betting amenity by offering “convenient entertainment options for guests with sports wagering kiosks located inside.”

Jonathan Fine, Founder and CEO of FINE Entertainment Management, expressed his excitement about the upcoming lounge. He stated: “Imagine a place where the thrill of the game meets the excitement of live entertainment, all within a vibrant and immersive atmosphere.”

The menu at “The George” will showcase chef-driven American cuisine, including items such as artisan flatbreads, burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, and steaks. Notably, the lounge’s kitchens will operate 24 hours a day, ensuring guests have access to dining options at any time.

The outdoor patio at “The George” will feature games like cornhole and shuffleboard. The patio will also house more than 60 TVs, ensuring patrons can catch their favorite sporting events, while a multi-use outdoor LED wall is set to provide a rounded viewing experience.

The Durango Casino, which began construction in March 2022, is on track to open its doors on November 20, 2023. With this anticipated opening, the casino aims to fill approximately 1,200 positions to support its operations.

“The George” Sportsmen’s Lounge is poised to become a notable feature of the $780 million resort. Beyond its ties to casino slang, the lounge concept emphasizes embracing the present moment and celebrating individuality, according to its developers.

“A George isn’t just at the party; they are the party,” Fine Entertainment Management says. Jonathan Fine highlighted the new approach behind the amenity: “Gone are the days of traditional sportsbooks with dim lighting and rows of betting stations. Our venue represents a complete re-imagination of the sports betting experience.”

“The George” lounge concept joins a lineup of dining and drink establishments already announced for Durango, including Eat Your Heart Out food hall, Mijo Modern Mexican Restaurant, Bel-Aire Lounge, and Summer House.
