The first edition of the Italian Gaming Expo & Conference (IGE), dedicated to the Italian gaming industry, will take place on April 18-19, 2024, in the Palazzo dei Congressi, in Rome.

Applications are open for gaming companies for the maiden Italian Gaming Awards (IGA), which is scheduled for April 18th at the Spazio Novecento in Rome. Submissions are free and open until 29 February 2024. There are a total of 20 award categories targeting operators, suppliers, and other participants.

The B2B event, themed ‘the sustainable future of gaming,’ offers an opportunity to explore the upcoming trends that will shape the gaming industry in the months and years ahead. It aims to establish guiding principles for companies looking towards the future, fostering innovation and sustainability, according to an official statement.

“2024 will be a strategic year for the Italian gaming industry and the event will in turn be strategic for the industry and for the entire ecosystem. IGE, therefore, looks to the future of gaming in Italy: a future that wants and must be fully sustainable. This is in fact the challenge that concerns all interested parties in the sector reform process,” Simona Clarizio, Head of IGE, said.

“Over the two days of IGE, top executives in the gaming industry will convene with institutions, experts, scholars, opinion leaders, and influencers. The focus is to foster dialogue on key industry themes, enabling participants to engage with national and international experts, opinion leaders, and some of the industry’s finest C-level executives. The objective is to generate new ideas and solutions that contribute to the growth and development of businesses,” IGE said.

The event will bring together supply chain and procurement managers, CFOs, and HR executive directors, aiming to explore the influence of the value chain, ESG models, diversity and inclusion, and novel organizational processes on the sustainability and digital transformation of the industry.

Deliberations will encompass various technological aspects, spanning from the metaverse to artificial intelligence, blockchain to digital payments. Additionally, regulatory discussions will delve into critical issues including the battle against match-fixing, revitalization of the horse racing sector, and the regulation of esports.

IGE’s international profile is underscored by partnerships with IMGL The International Masters of Gaming Law and media collaborations with international gaming organizations.

The Scientific Committee, comprising experts, scholars, and professionals, will guide the conference’s content. The event will strike a balance between industry and academia, with prominent figures such as Lucio Lamberti, Francesco Rodano, and Quirino Mancini contributing their expertise.
