Planet Hollywood Resorts International will enter the Georgian market through a new integrated resort project in Tbilisi, under a licensing agreement with Orbi Group and Block Group in association with Iconic Entertainment.
The development, now under construction in the capital, will form part of a two-tower complex with a total of 1,200 rooms, including a 500-room Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino and a 600-room Radisson Blu luxury hotel. Plans for the site also include a 50,000-square-foot casino, a 4,000-seat venue for entertainment and special events, and more than 70,000 square feet of Harvey Nichols retail space, alongside multiple dining and nightlife outlets.
The project is expected to create over 2,000 permanent jobs, with developers positioning it as a large-scale addition to the city’s tourism and hospitality sector. Tbilisi has seen rising international visitor interest in recent years, with its combination of historical architecture and urban development drawing increased attention from global operators.
“This represents a defining step in the continued global evolution of the Planet Hollywood brand,” said Robert Earl, Founder of Planet Hollywood. “Tbilisi is a city with extraordinary character and momentum. Together with our partners, we are creating a destination that brings together entertainment, hospitality, and immersive experiences in a way that is both ambitious and authentic to the market.”
The project brings together several international and regional partners. Tornike Janashvili, CEO of Block Group, said: “This is a pivotal moment for Tbilisi. We are introducing a true integrated resort-one that elevates the city’s global positioning, attracts international visitation at scale, and sets a new standard for hospitality, entertainment, and economic impact in the region.”
Irakli Kvergelidze, CEO of Orbi Group, said: “We are proud to be bringing Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino to Tbilisi and to deliver a destination that will help shape the future of tourism and hospitality in Georgia.”
Hotel and casino developer Mark Advent, founder of the New York New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and Partner of Iconic Entertainment, said: “I’ve waited decades for the right opportunity to work with Robert Earl- one of the world’s great impresarios; his creation of Planet Hollywood is part of a truly storied legacy.”
“We are in the fun business, and he has brought extraordinary enjoyment to guests around the world by bringing to life one of pop culture’s most iconic entertainment brands. On top of this, Tbilisi is ready for a project of this scale- this will be a defining destination!“
The Tbilisi project follows Planet Hollywood’s existing operations in Las Vegas. Additional details, including timelines and programming, are expected to be announced in the coming months.
