SBC Summit will feature a Global Payment Compliance track on its 2026 agenda, bringing together operators, compliance specialists, payment leaders, legal experts and technology providers to examine developments in payment regulation, fraud prevention and anti-money laundering controls.

The track will take place on September 30 as part of the dedicated Payment Expert Summit stage at the event, which runs from September 29 to Oct. 1 at the Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL) and MEO Arena in Lisbon.

“Payment compliance has become one of the industry’s biggest balancing acts,” Rasmus Sojmark, Founder and CEO of SBC, said. “Operators are expected to strengthen fraud prevention, AML threats and regulatory oversight, while at the same time delivering the fast, seamless payment journeys that players demand.”

“But success isn’t about choosing between compliance and customer experience; it’s about getting both right. The Global Payment Compliance track has been designed to help delegates understand the strategies, technologies and regulatory thinking that will allow them to do exactly that,” he added.

The track will explore how operators are integrating advances in AML compliance during the panel “AML in Motion: Continuous Monitoring in Modern Gaming”. Luis Carlos Pérez, Chief AML Officer at Lottofy; Gintarė Wycherley, Senior Solutions Engineer at SEON; James Boyles, Director Player Experience at Evoke; and Carmelo Mazza, CEO of Betaland/Enjoybet, will join moderator George Rover, Managing Partner at Princeton Global Strategies, to examine how automation and smarter risk detection can strengthen compliance without creating unnecessary friction for players.

The programme will then turn to cross-border compliance in African markets, where mobile money and alternative payment methods are driving growth. The session “Cross-Border Compliance: Navigating AML Across African Markets” will examine how operators can manage differing requirements across jurisdictions while maintaining seamless payment experiences. Speakers will include Maruf Lawal, COO of MOKO Afrika, and Adenike Oyebamiji, Legal Compliance West Africa at Velex Group, with Maleek Oyiza, Head of Legal & Compliance at Tradabets, as moderator.

The balance between compliance and player privacy will be addressed in “How Much Is Too Much Data?”. James Myles, Head of Compliance at Dragonbet; Miguel Godinho, Senior Legal & Compliance Counsel at Betclic Group; and Vana Demetriou, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at ZENOBET will discuss how operators can build robust compliance processes while responding to evolving data protection requirements. Jochen Biewer, Managing Director of Chevron Group, will moderate the session.

Sessions across the day will also address the AML challenges posed by emerging game formats through ‘AML Readiness for Emerging Game Formats‘, examine how prediction markets and AI are reshaping financial oversight in ‘Prediction Markets, AI and the New Investment Arms Race‘, and prepare delegates for the next phase of European regulation with ‘Preparing for AMLA’s Full Rollout‘.

The Payment Expert Summit will also feature dedicated tracks on Fintech on Sept. 29 and Crypto & Blockchain on Oct. 1.

SBC Summit will also offer a Compliance Show Floor Tour, a guided networking initiative connecting payment and compliance professionals with exhibitors and their latest solutions.

SBC expects about 40,000 industry professionals to attend the three-day event, which will feature networking, exhibitions and conference sessions.

Conference access is included with Conference, Business and VIP passes, while delegates wishing to attend the conference sessions and payment compliance networking initiatives will require a Business or VIP Pass.
