Paradise Entertainment expects to post a loss of HK$82.6 million ($10.6 million) for the six months ended June 30, 2026, a reversal from a profit of HK$177.8 million ($22.8 million) in the same period last year, the company said in a profit warning filed Friday.
Revenue from the sale and leasing of electronic gaming equipment and systems dropped 74.2% during the period, a decline of HK$93.1 million ($11.9 million), and the company pointed to lower sales of live multi game (LMG) terminals and systems in Macau as the main cause.
Paradise attributed part of the decline to its next-generation LMG platform, Black Coral, which is scheduled to enter the market in the second half of 2026 or early 2027. Group manufacturing and supply arm LT Game is developing the new platform.
The company said customers “might have opted to postpone their purchases in anticipation of the new version of LMG,” which reduced sales of its existing platform during the period.
The projected loss also stems from the end of Paradise’s casino management services business in Macau, a result of last year’s closure of the territory’s satellite casinos.
The company’s service agreement for Casino Kam Pek Paradise, on the Macau peninsula, expired and was not renewed effective December 2, 2025, so Paradise recognized no revenue from casino management services in Macau in the first half of 2026. That operation had generated HK$382.6 million ($49.1 million) in the first half of 2025.
Last year’s profit figure included HK$148.8 million ($19.1 million) tied to the now-discontinued casino management operation, and profit from continuing operations for the first half of 2025 stood at HK$29 million ($3.7 million).
Chairman and Managing Director Jay Chun has said Paradise is responding to the closure of its satellite casino operation with new business lines, among them a casino advisory unit, and with greater attention to innovation in electronic gaming machines.
Paradise is still finalizing unaudited consolidated results and expects to publish its interim report by the end of August.
