iGaming content provider BGaming has released Book of Hidden Tombs, a new Ancient Egypt-themed online slot that reworks the established “Book-of” format with a multiplier system tied to losing spins during its Super Free Spins round.
The title, categorized under BGaming’s #Classic line, retains the core structure that defines Book-of style games while introducing a progressive multiplier that rises with each non-winning spin.
The game features Ancient Egyptian gods Ra, Anubis, and Bastet as symbols on its reels, rendered with eye-catching graphics and animation, alongside a custom male explorer character who functions as one of the grid’s high-value symbols. The layout follows a standard 5×3 grid.
At the outset of the Free Spins round, the game selects a random symbol to become a Golden Expanding symbol for the round’s duration.
Players may then progress to the Super Free Spins round, where a multiplier begins at ×1 and doubles with each spin that does not produce a win. That multiplier then applies to subsequent wins.
The mechanic departs from typical slot design, in which multipliers usually increase on winning spins rather than losing ones. Maximum payouts in Book of Hidden Tombs reach ×10,000 the stake.
Operators offering the title can allow players to purchase direct entry into the Free Spins round for ×100 the stake, or into the Super Free Spins round for ×200 the stake.
Julia Alekseeva, CPO at BGaming, said: “With Book of Hidden Tombs, we are combining two iconic elements of online slot gaming: Ancient Egypt and the hugely popular ‘Book-of’ gameplay mechanic.
“With Book of Hidden Tombs, we have upped the excitement found in traditional ‘Book-of’ titles with the addition of the Super Free Spins bonus. The progressive multiplier adds a new element to the action. Not only does it create the chance for bigger wins, but it also helps remove the frustration of continued losses, which is a huge benefit for both players and operators.”
